daddy cool.

Doing a runaway show inspired by McDonalds? Absurd. Doing a runaway show inspired by sign traffics? Absurd. Doing a runaway show where the models are hood dolls? Absurd. Doing a runaway show inspired by cleaning products? Absurd.
Some call him unreasonable, silly, absurd. We prefer to call him a Daddy Cool, or in other words, a fashion authority.
Jeremy was born in Kansas City and was interested in fashion since he was 14 years old. Due to his irreverent style and out-of-the-box outfits, the designer was bullied in school. Being unique has its perks and “haters gonna hate”. Absurd, don't you think? He looked up to designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Mugler and even Moschino and created his creative voice honoring the silly and humouristic part of the society. After graduating from fashion school in NY, Jeremy moved to Paris in the pursuit of his fashion dream. Since he could not get a job in fashion, he created his own fashion brand. The brand was such a hit that by the third collection it was attracting the attention of names like Mario Testino, among others. Well, you know what to do to the haters, right?
Jeremy made his way through a creative satire of the American culture. The designer capitalized on mass consumerism and translated it into iconic and couture pieces (Warhol much?). McDonalds, Barbie, Burger King, SpongeBob are icons of the modern society and easily associated with heavy consumerism. Why not dress models and reflect a society with what they consume the most, by exaggerating its presence in people like it is already part of themselves?
Oh, the joke. The pop culture never looked so good and his creativity elevated Moschino as a symbol of modern fashion.
Jeremy had an absurd dream of being a boy from Kansas who dreamed of being a fashion designer. Nothing stopped him. Not the “no’s”, not the bullying, not even having to sleep on the Parisian subway because he was broke and could not get a job in fashion. Absurd is giving up our dreams, no matter how crazy they might seem.
One thing is sure: the runway shows will not be as fun and political without him to cheer things up and speak for a damaged society. Keep being crazy like a fool, daddy cool.
